What you Focus on Expands

I am trying something new today, it might feel a little weird, but just humor me. I want you to move or at the very least turn away from your desk, your phone, and your computer.  If you are home just leave the laundry, dishes, and chaotic refrigerator alone.  Set aside all the things you should do and let’s explore the idea of ‘abundance.’  You like that word?  Me too, let’s get started. Find a quiet space to calm yourself with a few deep breaths.  In…out…in…out…in…out. Slow down, way, way down, and just allow yourself a moment of rest. Let that peaceful feeling settle around you, encompass you, and become you. When you take the time to focus on your breath it has a calming effect on the entire body, it centers you, draws you kicking and screaming into the present moment.  This is where I want you to be right now, present, and open to the idea of abundance.  What you focus on expands, we know this already, but we don’t always participate in our own wisdom.  You are here to fulfill a specific purpose in this world.  I don’t know why, but we spend most of our day, living outside the door to our true destiny.  So I invite you to picture the door, it has your name on the plate, and every fiber of your being is attracted to this portal. Now look closely, is the lock visible? Close your eyes and try to picture in vibrant detail.  Now look down, the key is hanging on a chain around your neck, you just need to grab it.  All you have to do is take your key and unlock the door.

When you are ready, reach for the handle, and give it a confident turn.  This will release the latch and allow you access to your life.  You already know what is on the other side, it is the maturation of your greatest desires, it the life you were meant to live from the day you were born.  I realize leaving the key around my neck gives me comfort. I feel safer staying where I am, knowing the door is there, when I’m ready.  I’ll go when I have more time, when I’ve accomplished the stale goals I’ve set for myself, when I have permission from the naysayers. Deep inside I believe I am not smart enough, or pretty enough, or even worthy to have the life that exists in my dreams. I say bullshit to these self-limiting beliefs. Go ahead, bless the door frame, and enter with the reverence it deserves.  What does this world look like?  What are you seeing, touching, and hearing.  How does your heart feel?  Today I am moving into my true life, I am commanding this space, I am saying yes to the dream.  Walk a little further into your world. There are no limits on this side of the door, you are unbounded by time, and space.  Silence the voices that are trying to draw you back into your old life and replace them with affirmations.  You got this, you deserve this, and you are more than worthy.  Spend as much time as you need, picture everything you truly want, feel the passion building in your heart. Today I am stepping into the life I’ve only dreamed about, and my heart is bursting with gratitude, and joy.

What you focus on expands…focus on the good stuff.
